Extreme Copy is an easy application that allows you to copy files and see all the details while copying.

It works without opening any windows: you just copy or move the files like you usually do, with the Windows copy function, and Extreme Copy will show the file, source, destination, and the copy-related details (speed, remaining time, size, files, etc.). If an error occurs while copying, the program will pause and tell you about the problem; once it is solved, the program will continue copying.

When installing, the complete installation option installs the program automatically, and the custom setup allows you to change the destination folder. In any case, it installs a folder “Start menu/All programs/Extreme Copy” wherein the next options are placed: Configuration, About, Registration and Uninstall. The Configuration window allows you to change the user interface style: simple or normal; activate or deactivate, use Extreme Copy as the default copying application, play a sound when a copy operation is done, and select the sound to play. The price described is for the standard edition, which is free for Home Users. The Professional Edition costs $29.95 and it includes the Input User Interface that allows you to specify source files and destination folders in order to copy or move.

Pros

  • It copies files faster than the default Windows copy function

Cons

Poor UI, dont even let you know which are files it is about to copy and copying... very simple and shrinked interface.... disappointed with it.... no clue of when it will finish the newly added files... no options for adding to the existing file transfer list as the already not showing the current file transfer list....

TeraCopy is a brand that I used previously when Windows OS were really slow. But now that there have been several upgrades I don't think it's wise to use it. ExtremeCopy is also an alternative to TeraCopy, but the software that really stands out from a long-term experience is GS RichCopy 360. I highly recommend it!
