ExtremeCopy allows you to manage tasks that involve copying and moving files and folders. It goes well beyond the features provided by Windows operating system, even Windows 8. Thus, instead of showing error messages in case of conflictive situations, such as repeated file names, this application can be set to cope with these problems automatically. For example, by stating a series of rules, you can ask the program to rename files or replace the older version in case of conflict.
The program does not have a real user interface but it shows some windows intended to configure the application and to show the status of running tasks. The application integrates with the system. So, after installing the program, there will be a corresponding command in the contextual menu. Besides, it can also respond to clipboard operations.
ExtremeCopy Pro provides several advantages in terms of managing copying operations. However, although the developers claim that it makes copying faster, I did not find any noticeable increase in speed. The main difference between the professional version and the standard one is that it allows copying to various destinations in a single operation.
